Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a civilian Tele-Pain Nurse at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. This contract position offers:

Job Requirements:

The Position will have the following requirements:

Education: Must possess the minimum of a Bachelor’s certification (Registered Nurse). The institution must be from a National League of Nursing (NLN) approved program.

 Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Possess a current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice medicine in any one of the fifty States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands. Be certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Be certification by American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.

Experience:

  •  Possess at least three (3) years of experience working with pain management or related field.
  •  Have been continuously employed, for a minimum of one (1) year, as a registered nurse (RN) in a hospital or clinical Setting prior to working at the Military Training Facility (MTF).
  • Possess at least one (1) year of Tele-Health experience or knowledge of how tele-programs work.Possess a minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience as a clinic nurse within the last three (3) years preferably in the Pain Clinic.
  • Shall be knowledgeable of equipment and supply terminology and skill sufficient to identify and use necessary equipment and supplies properly and to communicate proper use with nurses, medical staff,patients and family members.
  • Shall be sufficiently skilled to teach patients proper self-care and to motivate patients and family members to continue the procedures for promoting rapid healing.
  •  Possess knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing (including Microsoft Office), data entry and automated medical records.
  •  Shall be a U.S. citizen.
  •  Possess a minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience as a clinic nurse within the last three (3) years preferably in the Pain Clinic.
  •  Possess knowledge and understanding of what Tele-Health is and how it works.
  •  Possesses exemplary customer service and communication skills to communicate efficiently with interdisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of medical disorders/conditions, diagnostic studies and treatments related to prevention, and treatment of Chronic and Acute Pain is desirable.
