We have added a mother with a patient and family member perspective to our panel discussion on Caring for the LGBTG community session on April 26th.
Sarah Watson is the mother of 12-year-old twins, one of whom happens to be transgender. Since her son socially transitioned in 2016 she has dedicated most of her time advocating for transgender equality. She provides education to schools, summer camp directors, healthcare providers and members of her community. Sarah has participated in various panel discussions at LGBTQ conferences and hospital grand rounds. She serves on a Patient and Family Advisory Council and Diversity Council at two local hospitals. Sarah is the co-chair of the Human Rights Campaign’s Parents for Transgender Equality Council. She holds Masters degrees in Healthcare Administration and Business Administration.
