REMINDER: MONL Board Leadership Transition & Call for Nominations

Dear MONL Members,

We would like to share an update regarding our Board of Directors. Beginning April 1, our current President, Christine Frost, will rotate into the Past President role. We are deeply grateful to Christine for her leadership and dedication to the MONL Board.

Amy Alsante, our President-Elect, will step into the role of President, and we are pleased to extend our warmest congratulations to her!

We would also like to thank Mandy Bounds, our current Secretary, and Barbara Buckley, Member-at-Large, for their hard work and commitment over the past two years.

We are now seeking to fill three Board positions for the 2026–2028 term:

  1. President-Elect
  2. Secretary
  3. Member-at-Large

If you are interested in one of these roles and would like to submit your name for consideration by the Nominating Committee, please email a brief statement outlining your interest, along with your current bio and resume, to mdnurseleaders@gmail.com. Please include your AONL status. Applications are due by Friday, February 27.

Below are the duties associated with each role:

President-Elect

The President-Elect shall:

  • Perform all duties and assume all responsibilities of the President in the absence or incapacity of the President
  • Serve as Chair of the MONL Planning Committee
  • Be responsible for recognition awards for MONL members
  • Be a full member of both MONL and AONL

Secretary

The Secretary shall:

  • Prepare and send correspondence on behalf of the organization as directed by the President or the Board, in collaboration with the MONL Program Manager
  • Prepare, distribute, and maintain minutes of MONL membership and Board meetings in collaboration with the MONL Program Manager
  • Perform other duties as necessary to support and advance MONL’s objectives
  • Collect website updates and facilitate changes
  • Be a full member of both MONL and AONL

Member-at-Large

The Member-at-Large shall:

  • Attend MONL Board meetings (the Board meets for one hour on the third Thursday of most months)
  • Attend two in-person planning retreats per year
  • Join an existing committee of their choosing
  • Participate in MONL events
  • Be a full member of MONL and AONL
  • Follow duties as prescribed by the MONL bylaws

 

Timeline:

  • Applications due by Friday, February 27
  • Nominating Committee reviews applications by Friday, March 6
  • Applications approved by the Nominating Committee open for active member voting Monday, March 9-Monday, March 23
  • Nominating Committee reviews and tallies votes Tuesday, March 24-Thursday, March 26
  • New Board members announced Friday, March 27
